Family News Update - February 2011

Latest Family News From Argentina – Yet another busy month for our family with both ministry and family activities. We cannot believe it but summer is coming to an end! This month the kids went to their first christian kids camp, we finally took our first family vacation in 4 years and this year both Sophia and Israel will be going to school together for the first time.
Here are just a few family highlights from the month of February 2011.
... February 1st - Last Month of Summer Vacation
Summer is coming to a close. Just less than 4 weeks left before school starts up again here in Argentina. It might sound very weird since many of you during the month of February have experienced tremendous snow blizzards and storms throughout the United States. Here the kids are just trying to enjoy some outdoor time with the puppies before we find them new homes.
Both kids are enjoying the puppies as well as Sophia's new found interest with Facebook.
... February 11th - 13th : Children & Youth Ministries Camp (Mendoza)
This was a special treat for both Sophia and Israel. Both of the kids experienced their first christian kids camp. Doriana and I were asked to help coordinate some of the activities (worship & sound) during the weekend at the camp. Sophia and Israel were able to enjoy some much deserved fun in the pool as well as a spiritual encounter with the Lord during the special ministry services. Please keep the kids in prayer. It hasn't always been easy for them since we left the USA to come to Argentina. However, we have seen and will continue to see God's faithfulness in all we do for HIM.

... February 21st - 28th : Family Vacation in “Las Grutas”
We were blessed this year to be able to take a much needed family vacation. During the past 4 years we haven't really had a chance to get away and just spend some family time together with the kids. It's amazing how fast they are growing up as you can see in the photos below.
Back in January we received a phone call from a family member inviting us to join them in “Las Grutas”. The Lord had laid it on their hearts to invite us to join them in Las Grutas at no expense to us. The amazing thing about this story is that just days before Doriana had been asking the Lord for family vacation, a time we could get away with the kids and have some fun. Especially a vacation where we could get away and enjoy the beach like we did before we moved from Daytona Beach, Florida.
The Lord was already answering our prayers. God knows the thoughts of our heart. How amazing is God! For some people, they will read or hear this and think that it was just a coincidence, a happen chance! Well, not for us, we continue to see how God answers our prayers, how He continues to show us His faithfulness in the small things of life.

... March 1st - Sophia's and Israel's First Day of School
Summer has officially ended. Now it's back to school. Back to getting up at 6:30AM to the kids up for school. This year both Sophia and Israel will be going to school together. Hurray! Actually they are both really excited about going to school.
Israel will be going into PRE-K (Salita de 4). A couple months ago, when we would mention going to school... he wanted nothing to do with it. However, when he found out that a friend of his was going to be going to the same school and we when started to buy the school uniforms his attitude towards school began to change. He is completely excited to go.
Sophia is now starting 4th grade. Amazing... it just seems like yesterday we sent her off to Kindergarten and now she is in 4th grade. Sophia has been doing great in school. We believe that part of the reason is because of the great christian teachers she has everyday as well as a christian environment where she can learn. It is a financial sacrifice for us to send them to the school (about $75 a month extra), but we really believe that it is and will make a huge difference in their lives as they are being prepared for what God has in store for them in the future.
Abu (Grandma Angelica Martinez), Tia (Aunt Marcela) and Tio (Uncle Lautaro) came to visit us in San Rafael for the kids first day of school.
Both Sophia and Israel had a great first day of school at Colegio Nazaret!
Sincerely,
Christopher & Doriana Goins
Again, we would just like to say that if it had not been for God we would not be here doing all that we have been able to accomplish. We are also grateful for those who have committed to help us with the mission that God has called us to here in Argentina. We are truly blessed. Thank you!
