Family News Update - January 2011

Latest Family News From Argentina - Wow! It's already the start of a brand new year. Lot's happening here in Argentina. We know that this year has a lot of great things in store for all us. We wanted to share with you just the Miracle at Atomo (Supermarket). Actually it happened on December 31st, 2010. It was a reminder to us that God has everything in control. If you take care of HIS business... HE will take care of your business.
Here are just a few family highlights from the month of January 2011.
... December 31st - The Miracle of the shopping cart at Atomo
As we were closing out this last year our family experiences an awesome miracle of provision from the Lord. When we came here to Argentina we didn't come with great financial resources or ministry donations. We have been blessed with 2 individuals who help us on a monthly basis with contributions to the ministry as well as several other individuals who the Lord has led them to help us at different times. We are extremely grateful for the help that has come from these individuals as they have helped us make an impact in the lives of those here in Argentina. As we reached the end of the month we were at a point in our lives that we needed a miracle from God. We had less than 100 pesos (about U$D 25) in our bank account. And we were not sure what we were going to do the next week for groceries for the kids. Doriana and I had already set aside the first week of the year to spend fasting and praying as we usually do every year, but we needed to make sure that the kids had food for the week. That's how the story begins.... WE NEEDED A MIRACLE!!!
Throughout this year Doriana has been ministering to a women who recently had lost her husband to heart problems during this past year. It had been quite difficult for her during the past several month as she was dealing with several family problems as a result of her husbands death.
On Friday the last day of the year, New Years Eve, the Lord woke her up early in the morning with a burden for our family. She asked the Lord what He wanted her to do. She heard the Lord ask her to call up Doriana to see if she could meet her for coffee in the morning. She told the Lord that if Doriana would have time to meet in the morning she would know that it was the Lord speaking this to her.
When Doriana received the call in the morning, they arranged to meet around 10AM before Doriana went to another appointment she had made earlier for noon. After about an hour as they meet and talked the lady asked Doriana to walk with her around the corner to get something. Around the corner form where they where meeting is a supermarket called ATOMO. When they entered into the store, the lady pulled out a shopping cart and said this is yours. Fill It Up, the Lord wants to Bless You! She then began to explain to her what they Lord had spoken to her earlier that morning.
As you can imagine we where extremely excited. Once they had finished filling up the shopping cart and checking out, Doriana called me up on the phone and told me to put the chicken back in the freezer that we had just pulled out for News Years Eve Dinner. It happened to be the last piece of meat we had to eat, and we had been saving it for our special New Years Eve family dinner. When she called me to tell me to put it away, I wasn't exactly sure why. Then she proceeded to tell me how the Lord had just provided a brand new fresh chicken, plus a whole lot more! When Doriana got home later that afternoon we began to put away the groceries that the Lord had blessed us with. We are grateful for all the ways the Lord has provided for us over the almost 20 years of full-time ministry. We can look back and truly say --- LOOK WHAT THE LORD HAS DONE!

... January 31st - God reminds us of His Everlasting Covenant!
The other day as I looked outside the office window... I could once again see the faithfulness of the Lord. A simple rainbow! A sign to us of God's Everlasting promise that He made with us. Wow! It's not always easy to go through the storms of life. However, we can be sure of one thing... He is faithful to see us through the storms as long as we hold on to him. And when the storm is over, He reminds us of His amazing love for us.
Just as we had finished out the prior month with a miracle from God. We finished this month with a sign from heaven of God's faithfulness.

... Janaury - Six New Family Members (Born in November 2010)
Actually they are up for adoption. We have a place for several of them, but we are still looking for a home for the other two. The kids spend hours outside with the dogs. As I am writing this article... I can hear the voice of the kids playing with the dogs in the front yard.

Again, we would just like to say that if it had not been for God we would not be here doing all that we have been able to accomplish. We are also grateful for those who have committed to help us with the mission that God has called us to here in Argentina. We are truly blessed. Thank you!
