Family News Update - December 2010
Latest Family News From Argentina - December is a very, very busy month here for us. It's the beginning of Summer Vacatoin here in Argentina and school has just gotten out for Sophia plus a month full of holidays with Christmas and New Years. Lot's of eating ASADO'S (BBQ) and running errands around town.
Here are just a few family hightlights from the month of December.
... December 9th - Marcos Witt Night of Worship
Doriana and Sophia spent time together for a Girl's Night Out on the Town. Sophia had been asking for several weeks if she could goto the Night of Worship with Marcos Witt so we took the opportunity to purchse tickets to celebrate here graduating from 3rd Grade.

... December 10th - Sophia's Graduates from 3rd Grade
Today we got to watch and celebrate with Sophia on her achievement of completing 3rd grade at here school. Every year the school holds a special celebration and a mini-drama play to end the school year. We are proud of the achievements Sophia has made during this past school year. This year Sophia once again got straight A's on her report card. Wow! Dad and Mom are also excited that we don't have to get up so earlier everyday and travel into the city to take here to school. Not only is a a vacation for her, but also for us. That deserves a double Hurray, Hurray!

...December 24th - Christmas Eve Dinner
Christmas Eve Dinner is a hugh celebration here in Argentina. We spent time together as a family and eat an incredible BBQ cooked over an open fire. I must say it turned out awesome. Then later that evening just before Mid-night Doriana's brother and nephew come over as we toast, set off some fireworks and gave a gift to each of the kids. I must say we have learned to enjoy the simple things of life. We are grateful that we have food on the table, a roof over our head and family and friends in which we can share the blessing that the Lord has allowed us to experience.
Photos from the amazing, awesome, ASADO! Don't worry it's just cow. Nothing strange here, no snake or goat.
...December 25th - Christmas Day
Christmas Day the kids were up not so early since we had gone to bed around 2AM in the morning on Christmas Eve. We were still full from the dinner the night before and really didn't have much desire to see more food. Sophia and Israel spent some time in the morning playing with Israel's remote control car which we had bought at least 5 years earlier. When we moved to Argentina we had purchased it from a local toys store in Daytona Beach, but we had totally forgot about it. Because the house we live in here in Argentina is much smaller than our old one, we still have boxes and boxes of stuff stored away. It wasn't long ago that we discovered that we had this brand new remote control truck stored away in one of those boxes. What a blessing and a surpise to us when we found it! It was now the perfect time be able to give it to Israel for Christmas. However, I am not sure who is enjoying the truck more... Israel or Sophia! The both are having a blast with it.
The kids are enjoying the weather outside as they play with the remote control truck.
(Our boxer Victoria is just one of the 10 security dogs we have on the property.)
Sincerely,
Christopher & Doriana Goins
Again, we would just like to say that if it had not been for God we would not be here doing all that we have been able to accomplish. We are also grateful for those who have committed to help us with the mission that God has called us to here in Argentina. We are truly blessed. Thank you!
